Refugio del Jaguar grows among cacao, avocado, bamboo, heliconias, water and forest. The land is gradually becoming a place to create, meet, learn and reconnect, without losing the authentic character of the existing farm.

02 — The story
Hospitality as a meaningful experience
More than a farm, café or wellness centre, the project proposes a close-to-home biocultural sanctuary. Each gesture —sharing cacao, breathing, making with the hands or gathering around fire— connects people with place and with one another.
An identity rooted in place
Its visual and spatial language is tropical, contemporary-rural, serene and artistic: wood, natural fibres, ceramics, stone, terracotta, deep green, earth tones, warm light and abundant vegetation. The intention is evolution, never artificial scenery.
03 — Five forces
A sanctuary shaped by earth, water, fire, air and light.
These forces organise the symbolic universe, the programme and the rhythm of every visit. They make the experience coherent without turning the refuge into a collection of unrelated activities.

One of the project’s conceptual hearts is a hybrid space where coffee, cacao, objects, sculptures and works by different artists coexist naturally. Art is not decoration here: it is part of how the place is experienced.

Art as the connecting thread
At the project’s symbolic centre stands Jaguar de Luz, the guardian artwork of the Refuge. Alongside it, the Baraja del Jaguar and the curatorial vision of Vergara Art Lab expand the world into illustration, sculpture, objects, exhibitions and creative encounters.
Refugio del Jaguar does not seek to accumulate activities. It seeks to design experiences worth remembering.
