02 — The story
SYNKRO begins at the meeting point between contemporary design and ancestral memory. Inspired by the symbolic richness of Emberá Chamí culture and the geometry of the Okama, the collection translates traditional codes into wearable objects for the present. It does not seek to reproduce the past, but to let form, pattern and symbol acquire new meanings across another body, another era and another identity.
The Okama—traditionally associated with Emberá women’s attire—becomes a point of departure for questioning the boundaries of masculine expression. Strength without rigidity. Sensitivity without fragility. Presence without uniformity. SYNKRO proposes a freer, more conscious masculinity, able to inhabit ornament, symbolism and ancestry with sophistication.
Leather, geometry, digital modelling and contemporary craft converge in pieces conceived as sculptural extensions of the body. OKHOMO, the multifunctional cuff and the Chocato / Cotiza footwear share one visual language of structural lines, repetition, protection and movement. Technology and craft do not replace memory; they translate it into another materiality.
Each object seeks to provoke more than an aesthetic response: curiosity, presence and identity. The body is no longer merely the bearer of the piece; it becomes part of the work. The collection turns accessory into personal architecture and dress into a territory of meaning.
SYNKRO joins Thiago Vergara’s creative universe as an exploration of fashion, art and object. Engineering, symbolism and cultural memory meet to imagine new ways of dressing the present, within the broader Vergara Art Lab vision of art, technology, tradition and meaning.
